Friday Morning Transport Option

If you have chosen to leave your vehicle in Orbost at the start of the ride, and get transport from Orbost to Bairnsdale on Friday morning the meeting place to leave your vehicle ( on private property) is:

185 Forest Road, Orbost. Map

Time: 8.00 am for an 8.30 am departure to Bairnsdale.

You will pick up your personal, bike and luggage tags at Check In in Bairnsdale.

(If using Google maps, treat the info with a pinch of salt: keep an eye out for the large 185 on the gate, which is a cattle grid entry to a rural property.)

Parking your car - Bairnsdale.

There are several options for leaving your vehicle in Bairnsdale over the weekend:

You can simply leave your vehicle parked at Howitt Park where the ride starts, which is large and has ample space. While Bairnsdale generally has low crime rates, you do leave your vehicle here at your own risk.

Bairnsdale Riverside Holiday Park is 200 metres from Howitt Park, just across the river. They will have some spaces available for cars to be left for a modest fee: you should contact the park on 03 5152 4654 to confirm your own arrangements with the park management.
